For many, many years, brides have worn the traditional flowing white wedding dress. In recent years, more brides began to seek their own way of expressing their style on their wedding day. It is now common to add color to some bridal gowns as well as different cuts and sew-ins.

Today, we see pink, peach and even earth tone colored gowns like green and tan. The weddings of today are becoming more modern. If you are looking for a traditional wedding, it is simple for you to find the gown you are looking for. With those seeking to have a more modern wedding, you may need a little more time to find the right gown that fits your style. You may need to have a wedding gown custom made, which is another hot trend.

Modern wedding dresses are also becoming shorter. Gowns are no longer sliding across the floor, but slightly shifting against the knees; some even fall above the knee. The cocktail dress is very popular; you can even add a train that sprouts out the back from the waist. If you are having a two-toned wedding, such as pink and white, you can have your wedding dress custom made to match the décor. Have pink diamonds sewn onto the veil and gown or have ribbons and bows that are pink and white. There are many ways to accessorize your bridal gown to make it more modern.

If you are not quite sure what your style is, go to a wedding gown designer or bridal store and look around. The designer will show you popular options and many different styles that will go well with your shape and size. If you like more than one style, you can get creative and combine them or look for a dress in a bridal store that has already. This is your special make sure that it is unique, memorable and meaningful.

There have been traditional wedding dresses that have no sleeves or straps, but more modern dressed have recreated this design with the one-shoulder-gown. Many different styles use this design, such as a strap coming from the middle of the breast over the shoulder, a strap loosely fitting the shoulder (set at the side of the arm instead of on the shoulder) and the thicker strap that shows less of the chest.

There are many ways that you can avoid the traditional wedding dress for your ceremony, see what is out there for you and do not be afraid to express yourself in a modern way! It is your wedding, and it should be perfect.
