Over time our memories fade but when photographic images of a wedding day are captured, everything comes flooding back; with digital wedding photography you can capture all those amazing moments for everyone to see. While it is also normal to have a DVD made as well, nothing can surpass a photograph for capturing the moment.
This isn't easy; creating that perfect shot if you are taking photographs without help as there is only so much you can do on your own without help. So, if you need some help for a wedding you are to attend and you are going to use a digital camera, then you may find some useful information in this article.
Many amateur photographers make the mistake of taking pictures with a boring background which is not something you want in a wedding photo. Portrait images (those that show just head and shoulders) can be very effective especially if the background is hardly in the shot.
If there is bright sunlight or you are using flash, ask guests who are wearing glasses to remove them just for the shot or as an alternative they could turn their head slightly to the side. If you are shooting into the light, remember to compensate and increase the aperture otherwise the couple (or guests) will appear dark in the image.
Candid shots are also dramatic and these portraits often reveal more than the quality of the picture itself; in fact, many professionals use the zoom to capture intimate and memorable moments. With digital wedding photography always remember to be ready for the shot as it saves people posing.
Your digital camera should be equipped with enough memory to ensure that no great moment is missed, in other words, make sure have an extra memory card especially if you want to preserve as many moments as possible. Professional digital slr cameras start at 6 mega pixels and very few compacts are now below that so your card will need to be a minimum of one gigabyte to be on the safe side.
The reason you need to set the cameras resolution to the maximum is because the colors will be richer and if you want to enlarge the photos, it won't be a problem. Storing the wedding images on a computer or CD will mean that you can print them off whenever you want but a presentation CD can be played back on a TV.
A new generation has grown up not really knowing what film photography is like, so to them digital wedding photography is quite normal.
