Microsoft Outlook 2002 and its earlier versions have a 2 GB size limit of PST (Personal Storage) files. This is the general complaint by several users who are still using older versions of Outlook and can not easily replace its use for countless reason.

Due to this size limit, the data can be corrupted or deleted automatically after the size exceeds 2 GB. In these situations, you need to upgrade your Outlook by Outlook 2003. Outlook 2003 can store the PST files up to the size of 20 GB.

Unluckily, upgrading to Microsoft Outlook 2003 doesn’t automatically make it feasible to add more files to the pre-Outlook 2003 PST files.
If you have an Outlook pst files from the earlier version of MS Outlook that is approaching or has already hit 2 GB size limit, you can’t solve it by simply installing Outlook 2003 to your system, attaching the old Pst files, and copying existing data in it. In these situations, you need to migrate the earlier Outlook files with Outlook 2003.

You also can’t repair the files if it has already corrupted due to the 2 GB size limit of earlier version. And if you use the Outlook without Migrating with Outlook 2003, it might be possible that Outlook 2003 can’t open these files and it can get corrupted. And it also possible that Outlook PST files may get corrupted or deleted in Outlook 2003 when it reach 2 GB of size limit.

This problem occurs because Microsoft Outlook 2003 uses different PST file format than earlier versions. It allows native Unicode storage, while the earlier versions don’t support the same.

If any of these situations occurs, you can’t access your PST files as it is corrupted and you need to repair it in order to access and use it. To do the same, you need for PST repair or Outlook repair software.

PST repair software are the file repair or mail recovery tools that are specially designed to repair and restore the corrupted Outlook PST files. These software work in almost all possible cases of PST corruption no matter what the reason is behind corruption. These software work on the header of the corrupted files and restore them without making any change to the existing contents of the file.
