There are seven crucial points that define quality of any presentation:
Structure
It is a balance between content and performance together with logical build of the whole presentation. Make it simple and rational.
Orientation
Always keep in mind two things:
Who you are speaking to
Why you do it
Never distract to irrelevant issues, unless you need them for clarification or example. While making a presentation in from of an audience, sometimes you may need to relax them or defuse tension, then you can do it by a joke or in another way, depending on the audience.
Vividness
Everything you say must be 100% clear to your audience. Remember, the rule “minimum of words, maximum of understanding”, and do not turn it into “… maximum of sense”. You have a goal, stick to it.
When using tables, figures or images do not overload the slide with information. Give conclusions rather than the whole explanation.
Rationality
Never say anything, which is not supported be facts. It is better to say less than to lose trust to all you said.
Colors
Manage colors accurately, if you are not sure of how it works, do not make any experiments. Remember half of success is better that a complete failure.
Sounds
Use sounds and music wisely. Background music must correspond to your goals at all times.
Animation
Use it only to attract attention to some elements of your presentation. Do not turn it into a cartoon.
