Nearly every year there is a warning about the dangers of the sun and what being over exposed can do to the skin, yet people ignore these warnings. The one reason that people ignore these warnings is because they believe that nothing can and will ever happen to them.

But we are aware of how to prevent our skin from becoming damaged either by being burnt, or ageing prematurely or even skin cancer, but how do we actually treat the skin once it has become damaged by the sun?

Now damage to the skin can come in a variety of forms and this will clearly depend on the level of exposure to the sun. It can vary from a mild to a very severe burn, where the skin is red raw and very sensitive.

Thankfully there are some creams that are available that can help with skin burns and some are actually very mild so minimising the amount of irritation.

Many people are actually quite on the use of Soy as this is well known to help soothe, calm and moisturise the skin. You may also want to give the skin some power and flexibility and this can be done with products known as Copper Peptides.

Fruits are a great source of Vitamin C and by applying creams that are enriched with Vitamins C & E will help to repair any damage to the skin. There is also Vitamin A which is also beneficial to the skin and can be found in natural based creams.

But if you have skin that is more severe then you should make a visit to your doctor with immediate effect. Depending on the severity of the burns you have developed you may be required to visit hospital to visit the burns unit.

If you skin has been severely damaged by the sun, and you have tried the majority of skin care creams that are available on the market, then the only real option to you is that you may want to take into account the possibility of plastic surgery.

This is an extreme case and should only really be considered if the damaged done to the skin and there are no other options available.

Consult your doctor to make sure you are fully aware of the procedures and possible risks.

If you do believe that you have been at risk from too much exposure to the sun then you need to seek medical advice as quickly as possible. You should also look for any changes in your skin such as a change in its appearance and also the appearance of any moles.
