If you are a guy then you probably hate the part of the morning where you have to apply some white form to your face and to then take a sharp blade to your skin in order to shave and look a little more human than you do with that stubble on your face.

Some of the problems with shaving include irritation to the skin; there is also the possibility that you can cut yourself badly and sometimes you can even get the odd spot especially if the blade is blunt and it pulls the hair away rather than cuts it.

So just how can you make shaving less painful and much more comfortable?

As mentioned shaving can cause irritation to the skin and this is mainly due to the fact that the razor that you are using is of poor quality or the blades have become blunt.

Shaving with a blunt blade can make shaving very unpleasant and can also increase the time of the shaving process. This is because you will need to make more movements of the blade against your skin and it is this increased movement that can lead to your skin becoming red, sore and sensitive.

It is worth your time and that of your face, to actually invest in a good quality razor that has no less than three blades, and you should always be looking at changing your blades on a frequent and regular basis.

No there is no suggestion as to when to change blades, but you will be able to work this out when your current blade is not cutting hair from your face as well as it once did and shaving is taking longer too perform.

Another problem that you could be facing is the type of technique that you use. Do you wet shave or do you electric shave? Now without doubt wet shave is far better and far kinder to the skin then the use of an electric razor. Using an electric razor will make the beard dense over time, making it just more and more uncomfortable to shave.

So the best way to shave is to use a good razor and to wet shave. But some people make the mistake of using a foam or gel.

Now these in there own right could be a part of the problem as they are generally chemically based and the ingredients of such products could result in irritation to the skin.

The best way to shave is to use a facial oil and to make sure that you shave after you bath or shower. Doing this will make the whiskers of the beard very soft and applying a oil to the skin will help to glide the razor over your skin.

So you are reducing any type of friction from happening and making the experience of shaving much more enjoyable and painless.

After you have shaved you should further help to calm the skin by using a good moisturiser. In order to help keep the skin tight and to fight off the signs of ageing you should really consider shaving with cold water.

You should also rinse with cold water once you have finished simply too keep the skin tight and your skin more youthful in appearance.
