An overused marketing tool like postcard mailing can be presented like new. The idea here is to stay out from what is cliché and come up with a better presentation from those that have already been used over time.

• Look at your own postcards. If you have used this tool before, gather your cards to double check that you will not be repeating what you’ve already applied on your previous cards.

• Look at your competitor’s postcards. Learn a thing or two from how they do it. But never copy or else you might be doing them a great favor. Clients may come to them rather than towards your way.

• Look at the trends. See what the craze in color and style is. Do not be left out with the latest in the field of your expertise. Browse the web and learn more.

• Change the shapes and sizes. You don’t have to stick with what’s the standard. You can customize your tools for postcard mailing to add to its appeal. Be bold if you must. Have big postcards that will be hard to ignore.

• Think like a customer. In order to serve them well, you must place yourself on their shoes even once in a while. By being one of them, you will have an idea of what will work and not.

Overused Words

To stay fresh and make it appear that you are up to date, avoid using the words that people are already used to. Potential customers know the instant they see these words that they are being sold to.

1. We offer only the best.

Every business, every company and every employee will say that they are the best in what they do. How will a business will grow, or a company will expand and employees to bargain higher wages if they don’t say that they are the best?

Everybody is the best. So how are the customers going to know who’s telling the truth? The solution is easy. Don’t just say it, prove it.

2. We stand above the rest.

Again, this is not for you to say. This must be your goal, for the clients to notice you to make you stand out. This must also be proven for people to be convinced.

3. You are assured of perfection once you seek our service.

This is already beyond the border. One look at the phrase and hard sell rings to people’s minds. You must not promise what you can’t commit to. You must be real.

Your marketing tools must not cost you a fortune. There are tried and tested tools that you can use for your products and services that will be as effective but will not cost too much.

Postcard mailing is a reliable advertising material. But because this form has been around for ages, you must tweak such every time you use it. You must make your postcards appear like brand-new every time you send those out to clients. Let them find something new and interesting each time they get an ad from you.
