The Indian Premier League was initially started to compete with the Indian cricket League started by the Zee Network. But now it is the hot topic. Now the Indian Cricket League is no where in front of the Indian Premier League. The players from ICL have now started planning to jump into the Indian Premier League.

The auction of the teams started the craze when the top teams Mumbai and Bangalore were Bid successfully for an astonishing amount of $111.9 million and $111.6 million by Mukesh Ambani and Vijay Malaya respectively. The participation of the celebrities like Shah Rukh Khan, Preethi Zintha also stimulated the craze.

This craze was continued at the auction conducted for the players. This auction was really a money mania for the players as they were bid for huge amounts. Indian captain Mahendar Singh Dhoni was bid for the highest amount of $1.5 million by the Chennai team. The second highest amount was for Andrew Symonds, he was bid for $1.35 million.

The Indian Premier League is all set begin from April 18th. The players started reaching their franchises and started practicing. Everyone is eager to see their favorite players in their home team.

The Indian Premier League is Scheduled in such a way that each team will play 7 matches in their home ground. It is also taken care off that the matches will be held in the evening timings to encourage the ground viewers.

There will be total of eight teams among them four teams will reach the semi finals. There they will fight for the seat in the finals. Whoever wins in the finals will grab the cup along with the huge prize money. The prize money is three times the prize money of the cricket world cup.

117 hours of family entertainment will be provided by this league. This is expected to be an ultimate family entertainer. There are people who started praying for their local teams in Indian Premier League.
