Having been recently offered and accepted a promotion within my company I will have to move my family to another area of California, more specifically the Montecito/Santa Barbara area. As the company has its headquarters in that area I’m no stranger to those cities as I have often spent weeks at a time in the area on business.
Though my time in those cities has been spent on business those trips have often afforded me the luxury of taking in the sights and sounds of these places during the evening. Being someone who can appreciate the coast and the coinciding atmosphere and weather, I’m eagerly awaiting the chance to take up residence in the community. This area of California has something for everyone, even those who don’t fancy themselves fans of coastal cities.
I do have to keep in mind however that the home buying process is a lengthy one and not only must my wife and I find a property that suits both our style and needs but we also must sell the home we currently reside in. This may prove to be difficult with the market conditions being what they are these days. My wife however is prepared to remain behind and complete the sale of our home should that need arise. We have also yet to view a single piece of Montecito Real Estate and I am well aware that traveling there and back will become a tiresome process, but I am certain we shall remain excited none the less.
Both my wife and I have received advice from those who have been down this road previously. We have repeatedly been told that we must be prepared to compromise what we want with what’s available and must practice patience as many of the homes we will see could very well leave us unimpressed. While this may hold true, I am confident that we will fall in love with several of the home we are destined to see. The homes in both Montecito and Santa Barbara all boast unique designs and are sure to amaze us at least on some level.
The hunt for a new home begins in two weeks and while we have yet managed to present our current residence to the market for sale, we are scheduled to view two homes in the upcoming weeks. This will be the biggest move of our adult lives and it is mixed with feelings of both apprehension and anticipation. It will be interesting indeed to see how this all plays out.
