We have discussed about the Staten Island, its heritage, popular features, world famous ferry and other major attractions. So far we described Staten Island Ferry, Postcards, Staten Island Yankees, Staten Island Borough Hall, and Staten Island Museum, now we’ll continue with other major attractions of Staten Island.

Garibaldi-Meucci Museum
The museum is described as home to Italian-American pioneers. Staten Island was residence of noted Italian Political refugee Antonio Meucci better known as the true creator of telephone, and Garibaldi the noted revolutionary moved to Staten Island in 1850 before returning to Italy.

Jacques Marchais Museum
The museum is undoubtedly one of the best museums of world dedicated to ancient Tibetan arts and culture. The Museum resembles a Himalayan mountain monastery and full of vast collection by Jacques Marchais. At the time of its opening, the museum was one of the first institutions of its kind. Today the museum features exhibits and a library, and organizes regular workshops on yoga and meditation.

Snug Harbor Cultural Centre
Originally built as a retirement home to sailors, Snug Harbor Cultural Centre houses several art galleries, beautiful gardens, and provides chances to learn maritime history. This cultural centre is a prominent cultural destination. The centre has New York City’s second largest music hall, which provides opportunity to local artists and musicians to show their talent.

Staten Island’s Botanical Garden
Staten Island Botanical Garden is a 53 acre group of gardens, having natural woodlands along with 20 specimen gardens. This garden facility illustrates Victorian elegance of a traditional garden blended with imaginative fun gardens for audiences of all ages. Secret garden, Butterfly Garden, Tuscan Garden, Garden of Healing and Sensory Gardens are a few specialties of this place.

Staten Island’s Children Museum
This is the place especially for cheers and smiles. This museum occupies 40,000 sq. feet area packed with fun and adventure for kids. Here kids can watch butterfly emerging from cocoons, drive a dogsled in tundra, watch the queen bee busy with attendants working in a hive. This museum is a great place for kids to learn while they play.
