Italian utility Enel Energia has announced that residential customers who opt to switch to the free market with the company will receive a two-year fixed-price offer for the its electricity and gas services.
Enel Energia's new 'EnergiaSicura' offer follows a successful commercial campaign that saw over 800,000 households sign up for offers targeted at residential customers who opt to switch to the free market with the firm. Enel Energia said that the new offer aims to respond to consumers' growing need to protect themselves from ever-rising energy costs and to know in advance how much their bills will be for the reasonably foreseeable future.
In contrast to the conditions set and updated on a quarterly basis by the Electricity and Gas Authority, Enel Energia's offer reportedly provides a guarantee to all residential customers who use electricity or gas that the cost of the raw material for them will not increase for two years. Enel said that this new offer is also the result of the success of the AnnoSicuro and AnnoSicuro Gas fixed-price offers that targeted small- and medium-sized companies. Enel has reported that 1.2 million new customers have made the switch to its utilities system.
