Our access database my get corrupted due to a number of reasons including Hardware failures, software conflicts, Jet Database Engine conflicts, Multi User Access, or inefficient database design. If any of these conditions occurs, it may corrupt or damage your database and can make them inaccessible in normal way. In these circumstances, to access your database, you need to repair it. You can fix this problem using following methods:

Backup the corrupted files:

You should always backup your corrupted data before applying any kind of repairing utility on it because these utilities can sometimes have a bad effect on treating the highly corrupted files.

Delete .LDB file:

When an access database is opened in Access or the jet database engine a new file with .ldb extension is created. This file is mainly used for synchronizing multi user files operations and it doesn’t require for repair purposes.

Restore Database from backup:

You can restore your database from previous backup taken by you. Often the corruption is really part of the Access objects not of the Jet Engine. Os if your database contains corrupted objects, you can import them from the backup.
Use the built-in Access 'Compact & Repair' feature

Access has a very effective feature namely ‘Compact and Repair’ accessible from the Tools -> Database Utilities menu. You can use this feature even if no database is loaded in MS Access, so if your database will not even open you can still try this option.

Import tables into a new database:

Create a new MS Access Database and try to import the entire database object using import options in this database. After importing, the database will work effectively.

If all else fails, may cause data loss. In these circumstances, you need to use specially designed Access Recovery software. These software search and locate the corrupted and damaged Access Database and repair it. Access repair use advanced data repairing tools and restore the corrupted database in their original format.
