Preparing for an ad campaign, not to mention that it should be an effective one, needs so many things for you to understand so that you’ll be able to run a successful one. It’s more than your product and service, your logo, and direction. More than anything else, when you need to prepare for your campaign, you have to look at your target market. Your target market will help you develop a better and more customized market plan so you can implement your marketing campaign successfully.
There are five W’s that you should know about when you’re preparing for your advertising campaign such as your advertising posters.
Who –
Who are your target clients and customers? And don’t even consider answering “everyone”. In order for you to mount a successful advertising campaign, you need to be specific in terms of identifying your target group. Do you focus on women? What age? Married or single? Working or not? Your target market’s demographics is important to help you narrow down your focus.
You also need to consider who your competitors are. In any business, there is always competition. It’s what makes the commercial industry thrive. So be realistic and analyze what your competitors are doing to reach out to your target market. How are they different? What are they doing to be unique and to be able to stand out? What can they offer that you can exceed?
Where –
Where is your target clients located? Where do they live? Where can you find the biggest concentration of your target market? Again, anywhere and everywhere should not be your answer to this question. I’ll say it again. You need to be specific so you can narrow in your field where you will mount your poster printing ads.
hoW –
Now that you know exactly who your clients are, where they are located, and your competition, the next step is to know what type of media tool is more appropriate for both your target market and your business. It does matter that your chosen marketing tool is suitable to your target market, as well as it should be able to best convey your message to your target audience. Whether its full color posters or advertising flyers, the bottom line is for you to create the most cost effective print ad that exemplifies the kind of market you’re targeting as well as the kind of brand you’re selling.
When –
When’s the time that you get more business dealings? Is it for a particular season? Do you get clients every time? The time that you promote your business also contributes to the success of your marketing campaign.
Why –
This is actually the most difficult, and yet the simplest question to answer. Why advertise at all? Because you need to put your name out there to be recognized. Advertising is the only means that can do that for you.
All of your responses to these questions are vital in determining the kind of marketing tool your going to need and your budget. All of these should be incorporated in your business plan, that is, if you want to accomplish your goals and be successful in your chosen niche.
