Fiesta: Ford’s New Small Car

                                                                                         

For the past weeks, the Ford Motor Company had been working on a new vehicle which would be coming as a small family car. Though this piece of news has been circulating the industry already, there has yet to be a name that needed to be connected to the vehicle. Today, The Auto Channel had reported that the company had already announced that the vehicle would be coming with Fiesta as its name. The vehicle would be sold in various car markets around the globe.

A part of the company’s new process, the global product development, the Ford Fiesta had its roots in Europe where it had gone through various stages of design and development. The Fiesta would be sent sometime between this year and 2010 to markets in America, Asia, Europe, Australia, and South Africa. In 1978 up until 1980, Ford already had a car with the Fiesta name and that vehicle had been as symbol of success and good dynamics for driving and that unit had been sold in the United States.

Mark Fields is the company’s president for the Americas and he declared, “The new Ford Fiesta captures every aspect of what's defined Ford as a small-car leader in Europe and builds on it in terms of driving dynamics and design. When it arrives in North America in 2010, the Ford Fiesta will set a new standard in the small car segment. Even before it arrives in this market, though, the new Fiesta demonstrates how leveraging our global strengths can yield attractive benefits for customers around the world.”

Also, Ford chief executive officer and president Alan Mullaly disclosed, “With the all-new Fiesta, we want to create a world standard for small car quality, design and comfort in a vehicle that is as exciting to drive as it is to look at. We believe this all-new model will attract a whole new generation of small car buyers, whether they are in Britain, Spain, China or California. The new Ford Fiesta will set the standard for delivering to our customers products they really want and value while taking advantage of our wonderful global resources.”

The new Ford Fiesta would not be coming with a Mallory 61 Series distributor however it would be coming with its own set of exceptional and quality auto parts. The look and design of the unit had already been displayed by the company through the Ford Verve concept which had been under the spotlight in some of the industry’s largest auto shows.
