This coming month of May, all of the people in the automotive arena who are also dedicated green followers and advocates could all troop to a conference dedicated on talking about the connection of the auto industry and the environment and just what the industry could do to help out battle the speedy onset of climate change.
The conference is the 14th Alternative Fuels and Vehicles National Conference + Expo (AF&V) and this would be held this May 11th up to the 14th. The conference and expo would be hosted by the Alternative Fuel Vehicle Institute and it would be in Las Vegas, Nevada. There is an estimated 2000 attendees coming from every corner of the globe to be at the event.
For this year, the conference and expo would be tackling all issues related to vehicles and fuels and what these pieces of technology could do to help combat global warming. Conferences and conventions like this would be able to help all aspects of the auto industry share their thoughts and ideas on the topic. In the process, attendees would also be able to learn more about what the industry could offer to help the environment and make new plans on what else each and every one could do to contribute to the cause.
A lineup of speakers have already been prepared and even as early as now, the organizers are making sure that there are keynote speakers who would be able to facilitate talks and share new ideas on the auto industry and the environment. Without experts and speakers, the whole affair would seem to be just like a sordid deal and a waste of time for there would not be an organized flow of activities and a smooth flow of ideas and facts.
The mayor of Las Vegas Oscar Goodman would be one of the keynote speakers and he would be welcoming all of the attendees. He also has been chosen as one of the speakers for under his leadership, the city of Las Vegas has been given the recognition with the “International World Leadership Award”.
From the United Parcel Service, Robert Hall would be sharing his side of the matter. At present, Hall is the manager of UPS’ fleet environmental group and UPS is known to have a fleet of 1600 units that use alternative fuel. He would be able to tackle issues on alternative fuel and just how these work on the Daewoo Nubira if used as part of a fleet.
The senior energy advisor of MISI, Dr. Robert Hirsch, would also be making his way to the convention and he would be sharing a report which has been done for consumption of the Department of Energy. This report has been titled “Peaking of World Oil Production: Impacts, Mitigation, and Risk Management”.
