"Brands were originally developed as labels of ownership: name, term, design, symbol. However, today it is what they do for people that matters much more, how they reflect and engage them, how they define their aspiration and enable them to do more. Powerful brands can drive success in competitive and financial markets, and indeed become the organization's most valuable assets." - Source: wikipedia.org
Americans take for granted the many brands we see all around us. The coffee you drink in the morning, the shoes you wear, the paper you read, and the job you go to all have strong brands that make them different from all others. But how do you brand your particular business? Answering that question is very important because a successful brand should identify your business with quality, high standards, and dependability. A good brand becomes more and more valuable as the competition for customers intensifies. A good brand is how customers see your business as the only business that can provide the products or services they need.
A well defined brand will deliver your message clearly and it will give credibility to your business. Credibility tells the consumer that they can trust you and your business. Your brand is a like a promise to your customer. In addition, a good brand connects to customers at an emotional and psychological level. Once you have created the emotional connection through your brand, it will be easy to motivate your customers to patronize your business and make them loyal to your business.
If you are to successfully brand your business, you must start by understanding your customers? needs and wants. You achieve this understanding through constant customer contact. If you listen, your customer will tell you what they want and need. Once you understand your customer?s wants and needs, you should begin to provide the products or services that will address the customers? wants and needs. In doing so, be sure to provide the highest level of customer service possible, you want your customer to associate a great experience with your business. Once you do that, your customer will reward you with customer loyalty.
You do not want to be caught without a good brand.
