There's no doubt about it, direct mail marketing is one of the best means to reach your target audience and get them interested in your business. Nevertheless, direct mail is a strategy that requires not only money but a big amount of hard work. When somebody tells you otherwise, then that person doesn't know a thing about direct mail such as your postcard marketing campaign.
Direct mail is sure ain't easy. Not only should you have a compelling offer, you also must have two things in your direct mail postcards – great copy and the right direct mail list.
But most of the time, having these three factors doesn't quite cut it. In fact, you still need to have other tactics to help you develop a successful postcard marketing campaign using the direct mail method. And a successful direct mail campaign means only one thing: a richer you!
Just a few steps might do the trick. So here's how you can optimize direct mail to help you increase your cash flow:
Step 1 – Get personal and do your addressing by hand. By writing the address by hand, you get to provide your target readers with a more personal touch that they would surely appreciate. Also, hand-addressed envelops are opened more than any sales letter or mail, as studies have shown.
So first things first, get your envelope opened to make the sale.
Step 2 – Put your name along with your address; and not your company's name. This way, your prospects would have a point person who they can call to ask for more information.
What's more, when your target readers see your company's name, they might think that you're trying to sell them something or attempting to make them part with their hard earned money, which would then make them very wary and suspicious. You definitely wouldn't want that because the purpose of the whole exercise is to get your target clients to open your envelope or read your postcards.
If you don't get people attracted to your marketing collaterals than they sure are a waste of your time, money and effort.
Step 3 – Use 'live' postage instead of 'bulk'. Your target clients would definitely know that you're selling something and hence, try to avoid you like the plague if you post it bulk or stamped. You wouldn't want that if you're trying to increase your cash flow.
Also, try to use postage stamps that can increase your aesthetic appearance rather than the standard ones. Providing a specialized stamp makes your direct mail marketing campaign more personal and human.
Using direct mail to market your business may mean hard work; but when you do it right, you'll definitely have big returns that can help you grow your business.
