Expecting visitors to your home anytime soon? Take a deep breath; it’s not something to greatly worry about. Have you cleaned your yard lately? Have you mowed the lawn? Have you re-arranged all the chairs and picked up all the kid’s toys littering around?
One of the first things your visitors will notice when they visit your home is your garden. The garden can have a huge impact on your social image. People can make a first impression about you as a person by just looking at how you manage your home and garden. An unkempt garden may signify poor management on your part, and can leave a negative image. However an overly glamorous garden may pique your visitor’s interest.
Gardens can set the ambience for your home. A clean and well kept garden can affect how you view your home, and even your life. It has been proven that a disorganized workplace or a messy home can have negative effects on the people living or working in it. Wouldn’t it be nice to take a stroll in a clean well trimmed garden to while your time or take the heavy load off your head for awhile? The garden can provide a whole new environment where you can relax and take off the pressures of life.
So how do you spice up your garden?
You really don’t need to be over zealous and turn your garden into a theme park, but rather put in some designs to entice your senses and improve the layout of the area. So the first thing you need to think about is – cleaning up. Before you start arranging, re-arranging or designing your garden, the first thing you need to do is “erase” all the unnecessary objects about. Trim the grasses, put the chairs aside, take the sandbox away, and keep the children’s toys and pickup any garbage in the area. This way, it will be easier for you to see and know where you want to place or arrange things later on, when you have a clean “work board” to start on.
After cleaning your garden, decide what necessary items you want to see in your garden. Chairs, plants, weathervanes? What else do you want to see in your garden? A path walk perhaps or maybe car port can be included in your design? Plan out where you want to see these things. But remember to place them in unobtrusive locations. Make sure the path walk is free from obstacles. Don’t put the sandbox near the carport. And arrange the plants so that they won’t look like shrubs growing everywhere. Plants lined up by the path walk can be a good start.
And if you want to glam up your garden even more, think of adding a statue or two. Then add some water features like garden sprinklers, maybe a fish pond; some water works would be nice.
With the right imagination and budget, you can surely make a beautiful garden.
