The low carb diet is basically a diet that relies on protein and fat intake. These two will give you the energy you need and the fat will be burnt and your muscles will build up. If you reduce the amount of carbs that you eat, your body will need energy and it will start burning the fat tissue, which is what you want.

So, if you want to follow the low carb diet, you will have to read the labels of the products you eat very carefully. See the amount of proteins and fat in each and aim for products that are high in proteins. Meat contains a lot of proteins together with fish and eggs, some fruits (except for the banana, watermelon and others with high carb content). For the fat intake, go for butter, mayonnaise and things of the sort.

Avoid potatoes, pasta, rice, bread, sugar, beer, alcohol and other foods that have a high amount of carbs. Be careful! If you drop the carbs from your diet and you don’t eat these at all, you might not lose as much weight as you wished. The carbs are needed for the normal function of the body, so eat carbs, but less carbs.
Also, pay attention to eat sufficient calories. Otherwise, your metabolism will slow down- making it more difficult to burn calories and you will only lose your muscles and not your fat mass.
Supplements help you a lot in low carbohydrates diets because you can get your vitamins and all the nutrients you need without eating more food, also they help in the first stage when you will feel headaches, fatigue or nausea.
Work out! It is easier to lose fat if you add a few exercises in your daily routine. It is possible to lose fat without going to the gym, but this means that you will lack the energy and be in a really bad mood.
It is important that after you have finished dieting, you shouldn’t jump on sweet foods and carbs, because you will gain a lot of fat back. Eat a moderate amount of carbs and you will be fine.

This diet is recommended for someone who has hyper insulinemia but people who are vegetarian or don't like cheese, meat or eggs should avoid this diet because it's very difficult for them to find other sources of protein. Also, if you have liver problems, you should avoid this diet.
