In the article:" Allah loves (5) those who are firm and steadfast (patient)"
Verse 3:146 says that Allah loves those who are firm and steadfast (patient) Verse 39:10 says: verily the steadfast and those who patiently persevere will truly receive a reward without measure and will be recompensed in full without count at the Day of Judgment.
The verse says that throughout the history of mankind, with how many prophets have there been a number of devoted men who fought beside him against scores of unbelievers.
They quailed not, the believers did not weaken for aught that befell them in the way of Allah in terms of death and injury;
It is also said that this means: how many prophets were killed alongside scores of believers, but the believers did not weaken due to that which befell them in the way of Allah - the killing of their prophets - in obedience of Allah,
Nor did they weaken; they did not lack strength to fight their enemies,
Nor were they brought low, they did not abase themselves before their enemy;
It is also said that this means: they did not surrender to their enemy.
Allah loves the steadfast in fighting their enemy alongside their Prophet.
And Allah loves the patient, during trials, meaning that He will reward them.
Verse 3:147 shows what the firm and steadfast believers said when their Prophet had been killed in the fight against the disbelievers
All that they said, when their prophet had been killed while they stood their ground and were steadfast, was, ‘Our Lord, forgive us our sins and our excesses, our overstepping the bounds, in our affairs, a declaration of the fact that what had befallen them was the result of their evil actions and a humbling of their selves, and make firm our feet, with strength for the struggle, and help us against the unbelieving folk’.
Verse 3:147 in four different translations
QARIB:
Their only words were: 'lord, forgive us our sins and that we exceeded in our affair, make us firm of foot and give us victory over the unbelievers. '
SHAKIR:
And their saying was no other than that they said: our lord! Forgive us our faults and our extravagance in our affair and make firm our feet and help us against the unbelieving people
PICKTHAL:
Their cry was only that they said: our lord! Forgive us for our sins and wasted efforts, make our foothold sure, and give us victory over the disbelieving folk.
YUSUFALI:
All that they said was: "our lord! Forgive us our sins and anything we may have done that transgressed our duty: establish our feet firmly, and help us against those that resist faith."
Then, verse 3:148 shows what Allah gave them in this life and in the afterlife.
Allah gave them the reward of this world, victory and booty, and the fairest reward of the Hereafter, that is, Paradise
And Allah loves the virtuous, those whose deeds are good.
Verse 3:148 in four different translations
QARIB:
And Allah gave them the reward of this life, and the best reward of the everlasting life. Allah loves the good doers.
SHAKIR:
So Allah gave them the reward of this world and better reward of the hereafter and Allah loves those who do good (to others)
PICKTHAL:
So Allah gave them the reward of the world and the good reward of the hereafter. Allah loveth those whose deeds are good.
YUSUFALI:
And Allah gave them a reward in this world, and the excellent reward of the hereafter. For Allah loveth those who do good.
