A bed in a bag comes with a comforter. People use comforters to keep toasty on cold nights. Further, comforters come in various designs to facilitate bedding coordination and are thus used to impart style to the bedroom. Given the importance of the comforter to both form and function, it will play a major role in terms of the bed in a bag you purchase.

Time to Meet the Comforter

You can find a comforter that matches your bed size, whether it’s a twin, queen or king. However, keep in mind that the comforter is actually larger than the bed to allow for it to neatly drop over the side. In addition, the comforter comes in the shape of a rectangle. It contains synthetic or natural stuffing..

Goose

A lot of people like goose down comforters. To begin with, goose doesn’t smell, which can be a real benefit given how much you’ll interact with your comforter. However, some animal rights activists don’t like goose in that it comes from…a goose. Further, many are allergic to goose feathers. In addition, many have allergies to feathers, including those from goose. But putting these reasons aside, goose is great in that it’s both light weight and warm. Keep in mind that if the label doesn’t say goose, your comforter is probably from duck, which is cheaper and less soft.

Thought of Cotton?

An alternative to goose is cotton. Cotton has a heavy feeling. The weight makes some people feel secure at night. Cotton also lets air flow through it nicely and is soft. However, it’s not as warm as down.

About Thread Count

The thread count is simply the amount of threads, per inch, in the comforter’s shell. The higher the thread count, the softer the material and the more expensive it will be. If you are willing to pay a little more, look for thread counts over 250.

Style Matters

You can get your comforter in a variety of styles. Designs range from floral and other patterns to solid. Keep in mind that if you get a bed in a bag, your comforter will automatically match the bedding. Also, consider a reversible comforter so that you can quickly change styles by flipping it. To conclude, if you want your comforter to look fresh, wash it every three weeks.

Comforters will affect the look of your entire bedroom. So when you buy a bed in a bag, make sure the comforter meets your qualifications and you’ll be on your way to creating the bedroom of your dreams.
