Since the dawn of time, humans have looked to the skies and dreamed of leaving their earthly existence, and joining the birds in a world that was for most of our history, denied to us. The dream of flight has been the theme of thousands of songs and poems.

In the 16th century, Leonardo da Vinci drew a sketch of a machine which he believed would help humans achieve their centuries old quest to take to the skies. Over three hundred years went by before the Wright brothers in 1903 turned his and other inventors' dreams and visions of powered flight into reality.

Although it may be hard to believe now, humans have only been flying in planes for just over one hundred years. Obviously, we have accomplished so much in such a short span of time. Airplanes in all sorts of sizes, shapes, and capacities are obtainable. It is, however, exciting to know that flight lessons can be taken not only by those who possess the required know-how, but by others as well. Not to mention, at very affordable rates.

Once you have tasted the sweet joy of flight, you will realize that the best way to feel free is to take to the air. You will be stress free with the absence of traffic, traffic lights, and other drivers. When you're up in the air, it's down to you and your instruments!

Soaring solo through the air is just one of the many benefits of flight. You will cruise at high speeds above the landscape, seeing various human environments, and large spans of undeveloped country, also getting to see difficult to access by land views, and enjoy seeing the world from a different perspective. You will most certainly see things differently from a plane, than those on the ground do.

Many people feel that personal flight is something beyond them, due to skill or price; but in fact, gaining access to flight is easier to achieve than you may realize. Courses are, to a great extent, obtainable at very low prices. Perhaps you will never own your own airplane, but you can rent one in many areas across the nation.
