Who ever said men are not conscious of their physical appearance? Well, years ago this would have been true but in today’s modern society, it is very important to maintain good looks and physical appearance. Men’s hair loss is one problem taken seriously by modern men.

Hair loss in men is easily noticed because the hair found on the crown or top of the head, as well as the temples, thin out until such time that a pattern similar to a horse shoe appears on the side of your head. If you’re looking for signs to identify hair loss, it would include receding hairlines and extensive/moderate hair loss.

According to studies, around 95% of men’s hair loss is due to a condition called androgenic alopecia. This is commonly known as pattern baldness. It can occur to both men and women. The major factors that contribute to men’s hair loss are age, heredity, and hormone (testosterone).

If you don’t seek the help of a medical professional, then your hair loss will progress. You will find your hair becoming finer, doesn’t grow long, and bald spots begin to appear especially on the head’s crown. If you’re quite unlucky, hair loss will take its toll when you reach your twenties. But in most cases, hair loss is more noticeable at the ages 35-40.

If you begin to experience hair loss, blame it on the DHT or dihydrotestosterone. This is the culprit behind hair loss or thinning of hair. It is formed when testosterone combines with androgen receptors, dirt particles, and sebum. Most of your hair follicles are DHT sensitive and if these follicles are exposed to too much DHT, the follicles will shrink. When the hair follicle finally shuts down, the hair will eventually fall out.

A less common condition is Alopecia Areata wherein the hair falls out by its roots. This happens in one or several parts of the scalp.

There are other cause of hair loss among men such as nutritional deficiency, severe stress, systematic illness, and scalp infections. It is therefore of utmost importance to consult or seek advice from an expert doctor or even a good hair specialist. By doing so, you can identify the cause of our condition.

Men’s hair loss is a major concern these days and if you’re overly conscious of your physical appearance, act now before most of your hair fall out or become thinner. It is best to address the hair loss problem at an early stage so that more hair follicles can be saved from the terrible DHT. Immediate action is required to prevent further loss of hair and maintain the health of your existing hair.

Some hair loss products are exclusively for men while some are suited for female use. You must use a product that is suited to your particular case so that in a short period of time, you can notice substantial changes in your hair’s looks. Perhaps it’s now time to take care of your hair’s health to prevent hair problems in the future.

Men’s hair loss is ordinary especially among aging men but it doesn’t mean that you will just sit there and do nothing. True enough, its part of growing old but you can still do something about it. Know your treatment alternatives so that you can stop hair loss at an early stage.
