Sports stars are getting younger and younger and part of the reason may be because they are getting into sports at an earlier age. The National Council of Youth Sports released a study on child-related sporting activity showing that many children are starting to get into a tennis academy and study programs for other sports as young as age six.

In the past, parents didn't start putting children into serious sporting programs until they were teens. With most children needing similar amounts of time in training, that would mean they would be older when they came out of those programs and entered pro levels. If a young child goes into a tennis academy or other sporting program and practices consistently, a younger star will come out of the program, ready for play.

Realizing this logic, more parents have decided to start their children in a tennis academy and other sporting venues at a younger age to give them an advantage at making it in the very competitive sports world.

As parents search for the right tennis academy, such as Weil Tennis Academy www.weiltennis.com, to enroll their children, there are many considerations to be made. First, find out who the instructors are. A coach’s tennis history is one good way to determine if he or she will be properly-equipped to train students. Secondly, coaches should start children in tournament training at a young age and have a consistent tournament schedule to teach children what they will need to be familiar with as they progress in the sport.
