Foreword
Online gaming received a serious blow when the American Federal government passed the Ports Law banning any financial institution from sending or receiving money to and from any company that is related to online betting. But, as expected, only scared away the big companies such as PlayTech. Smaller ones either kept on operating or opened new companies with new names. Here is a list of some of bigger names still accepting players from the USA.
A bulk of these online game entities created other casinos and gaming houses that could still allow players from America to enter and participate in online games. Even some of the very respected casino entities followed suit and these are the casinos which you might run into if you are an American player.
The system used for bypassing the American ban is actually pretty ingenious. Since the legal stop is only against moving cash to online gambling entities, casinos created new identities (sometimes new names), and the money is moved to and from these new identities that are seemingly unrelated to gambling. This means that one can even use a Visa or Diners Card to play! It is also important to note that some money transfer options such as Neteller and MoneyBrokers are easier to use for such transactions.
What Does It Matter to Me?
If you are one of those who likes to be told where and how to spend your money then this ban will not bother you at all. But if you feel that your money is yours and that no government can tell you what to do with it then this law is a travesty. When it comes to legal advice, no one will tell you to go online and play at an online casino. But what about us? What about we that like it? Every prohibition caused black markets to prosper. So too this one. But, there are still quite a few online casinos that are backed by safe game entities that are trustworthy.
Casinos that Allow American Players to Take Part
1) ClubUSA Casino:
By offering software created and professionally managed by Real Time Gaming, one of the most trusted names in the gaming software industry, this online casino uses Wire Card to conduct all its online banking transactions with you. They also offer a nice and hefty seven hundred and fifty dollars free for playing.
2) Roxy Palace:
While the previous casino was operated using Real Time Gaming, Roxy Palace turned to MicroGaming, another firm and sturdy software gaming company. The product you get is one that is not only graphically enhanced, but also includes a random number generator far superior than any other in the online casino industry.
3) Golden Casino is rumoured to belong to the online entity Golden Palace. Yes. They are the one that used publicity stunts such as buying a pizza with a holy figure on it or paying people to run topless or naked and disrupt sporting events. Even so, this new online casino has a lot to offer. They hand out a vast number of daily free awards and the number of games that one can play increases weekly.
4) Crystal Palace:
This certified safe-bet casino uses 128-bit encryption but its display is a bit weak. Though it seems live and pulsating, and though it does offer a more than decent prize offer, this casino is not one that you will leave saying wow. But, it does provide a safe method of playing from the US by naming all financial transactions between you and the gaming entity through Crystalisle Management.
5) Any casino that belongs to the Fortune Lounge group is one that any player from anywhere in the world can safely play and enjoy. Royal Vegas Casino is the top one from this group, and to those from America, still accepting US players. It also uses MicroGaming and uses their assistance in the day-to-day running of the casino software.
End Notes:
If you Google the phrase "online casinos still accepting US players" you are bound to find a long list of sites claiming to offer such lists. Neither do I claim that all those lists are bogus nor do I claim that the casinos above are completely legally safe. But, all I am stating is that the five listed are backed by trusted casino entities. If you wish to take the risk of playing online, you should know that it is against Federal Law. I advise you to desist.
