Fitness is the main concern for each and every individual these days. Presently the life seems to be going at a very high pace where fitness plays an important role. It is not that only young or working people require to be fit but fitness is even more important for the people in there ripe age.

It has been seen that a person’s body tends to go weak in ones ripe age. The bones and the muscles tend to get weaker as compared to the time when they were young and busy in earning your living. The bones tend to become fragile and joints become painful. It has been seen that if mild exercise like walking, yogic exercises, meditation etc is kept in ones routine then one tends to remain fit in one’s ripe age.

Energy requirements vary depending on age, gender, body size, activity levels, and whether or not you are pregnant or breast-feeding. It is important to balance the energy taken in (from food and drink) with the energy being expended through physical activity and the body’s normal functioning, to maintain a healthy weight and healthy living in every age.

People in their forties and fifties may be less likely to engage in sports or other forms of exercise than younger ones. One thing important to keep in mind in ripe age to maintain fitness is to visit your doctor about 3 times or more as per your requirement. You are suggested to visit your physician time to time so that incase of problem you can get it detected at its initial stage.

Regular physical activity or mild exercise can:

• Help maintain a healthy body weight or prevent weight gain;
• Help prevent heart disease, stroke and high blood pressure;
• Reduce the risk of developing type II diabetes and some cancers;
• Help build and maintain healthy bones, muscles and joints, reducing the risk of injury; and
• Promote psychological well-being.
