When choosing what design principles to apply in your custom brochures, it is best to consider how you would like them displayed in your shop or mailed to clients and prospects. The way you you are your brochures presented usually determines its design.

The design of your brochures must be one that would give the most advantage to your marketing collaterals.

With regards to its pages, whether you decide to use multiple pages stapled in the corner, or pages folded in half and saddle stitched or even custom brochures with a single sheet with one or more folds, you have to choose depending on the size and format of your collaterals.

Your decision will also determine the amount and the areas in your printing brochures that will contain information about your business. Your pages will also provide you with options whether to go for a heavy and glossy cover. It would be a lot more expensive to select this option but it can attract more attention, as well as make your custom brochures more durable.

A single page with many folds on the other hand, allows you to be more economical and still have the look and feel of a professional. While a tri-fold paper the size of a regular bond paper will surely fit right inside an ordinary mail envelope but will have less information to hold within its limited space.

Quality of paper and color also has a definite role in the overall impression when printing brochures. One with glossy paper and printed with bold and brilliant colors reflects a more upscale and expensive image. Bear in mind that when you give your target clients with something that looks like junk, your collateral will be treated just like one. So remember to always put your best foot forward with custom brochures that exude class and elegance.

In addition, if you are on a very limiting budget, you can go for black and white color scheme. This would likely get you attention, as it is not always that target clients see a black-and-white ad nowadays. You will definitely stand out like a sore thumb among the many colors that every marketer put in their brochures. Moreover, you do not even have to pay as much as if you decided on going full color for your collaterals.

The best thing to do when deciding on the most appropriate when printing brochures is to check with your printer for the paper size, its color, weight and texture that will amply represent you and your business. Ask your printer for many options. Then decide on what would be the best one to convey the image that you want to have.
