Some will argue that not many collaterals can deliver an electric message that would make readers sit up and listen. In fact, you can count those which can reasonably deliver on the high expectations of the target audience. Hence, so many marketing campaigns, whether its postcard printing or even brochure printing, fail miserably to engage its readers and in turn waste its chance of convincing them of the value of its offer.

Having said that, it would be wise for many business owners and marketers to learn from the speech masters on how to make people take notice of their message. Learning the key lessons to better speechwriting can go a long way in helping your marketing campaign even your cheap postcard printing become better communicators of your offer.

Lesson 1 – Make a simple yet strong outline.

It is very easy to get lost in all those powerful phrases and words used in a speech. But it would be for your benefit, as well as your readers, if you realize at the very beginning that speeches don’t only contain phrases, but also sentences to create a cohesive whole.

When writing your content for your collaterals such as your postcard printing, it would be worthwhile on your part to study and analyze first what you would want to say, and then make your outline to convey your message coherently.

Lesson 2 – Include impactful lines.

Even if the message and outline are significant to the impact of the speech, the soundbites (the phrases that get to be remembered in the speech) is also very important. Just like Martin Luther King Jr.’s “I have a dream…” phrase, your content in your collaterals should have that one catch phrase or line that people will remember even after your marketing campaign has reached its decline. Nike’s ‘Just do it’ resounds until now after so many years. The key is for your target readers to say “Oh, what a line!” after reading your copy, and for them to quote you decades from now.

Lesson 3 – The Rule of Three.

Even marketers know about this rule – in every content, always provide examples in threes. This just means that you give importance to your point by giving three supporting ideas. This would further emphasize the message that you would want your readers to understand.

Lesson 4 – Amplify by contrasting.

The best way to highlight the importance of an idea is to introduce a contrast among your concepts. Metaphors are the most popular means to contrast images in your content. Your postcard printing message can be better understood if you try to provide your concepts with concrete images and emotions that can emphasize even those abstract ideas.

Are you ready to write your content now?
