Christening Invitations for Christening Ceremony!

Sending out personalized Christening invitations is one of those special moments in the lives of many parents. It symbolizes not only the addition of a new family member but also begins the child down a specific spiritual path. Planning one of these events should be done carefully and well in advance so all of the preparations will be completed as you wanted. Before sending out christening cards, you should think about a few of these facts.

Why Send Baby Christening Invitation?

Custom Christening announcements are usually used to invite friends and family members to a child's baptism. The term "christening" refers to the idea of the child being given a Christian name at the time of the baptism. Of course, the purpose of the baptism is to forgive the child for sins. Christian religions practice this event and have for quite a long time, although its exact beginnings are debated among religious scholars.

However, baby christening invitations do not necessarily need to be related to a religious tradition. The term can also refer to any naming ceremony so if you are of a faith that doesn't practice this idea or if you're not particularly religious, you could still have a christening for your child in which you announce his or her name to your family and friends, for example.

What Should be Included on Baptism Christening Invitations?

Basically, a christening invitation should include the same basic details as any invitation. Location is, of course, one of the more important details to include. Most baptisms are held in religious facilities, such as a church. You'll need to contact your local facility and discuss possible times that would be available for your ceremony. Remember that many churches only permit baptisms on certain days so planning ahead is crucial.

Most families follow the church service with a small reception at home. You might have a nice brunch buffet set up for guests if the online invitations christening were for a morning ceremony, for example. Deli trays, appetizers, even just cake can all be fine refreshments for your reception, depending on the number of guests and the budget you have to work with. If you're strapped for cash, you could even have a party where everyone brings their own dish to the event. Just make sure to include the reception information on the printed Baby Girl Christening invitations.

Additionally, you should include the names of the parents of the baby. Some parents choose to add the names of the godparents as well but this is optional. The baby's name is usually included, too, unless you are doing a true naming ceremony for your family as well as for the church.

Finally, it's a good idea to include an additional phone number in case your guests need to contact you with questions or to let you know they will be attending the event. You might even want to include multiple numbers. Adding a printed map along with your unique Baby Boy Christening invitations is also a good idea for your guests.
