In Bible versus Quran: O peoples, O earth! Hear and listen (1)
This is the first article in the series: O peoples, O earth! Hear and listen in the Bible versus the Quran (1).
The Bible says: Hear, O peoples, all of you, all of them! Listen, O earth and all it contains; all who are in it; the Lord God Love is coming out of his place; will come down and tread upon the high places of the earth and the mountains will melt under the LORD God Love.
The Quran says: O people; Fear your Lord and Keep your duty to your Lord.
And fear the torment of the day of resurrection when the parent will not be able to avail the child in aught in relation to Allah's chastisement, nor the child to avail the parent. Surely Allah’s promise, of resurrection after death, is absolutely true; it will certainly take place. So do not let the life of this world deceive you, and do not let Satan; deceive you concerning Allah.

O peoples, O earth! Hear and listen in the Quran (1)
Verse 31:33 in four different English translations:
QARIB:
People, fear your lord, and fear the day when no father shall ransom a thing for his child nor a child for his father. The promise of Allah is surely true. so do not let the life of this present world delude you, nor let the deluder (Satan) delude you concerning Allah.
SHAKIR:
O people! guard against (the punishment of) your lord and dread the day when a father shall not make any satisfaction for his son, nor shall the child be the maker of any satisfaction for his father; surely the promise of Allah is true, therefore let not this world's life deceive you, nor let the arch deceiver deceive you in respect of Allah
PICKTHAL:
O mankind! keep your duty to your lord and fear a day when the parent will not be able to avail the child in aught, nor the child to avail the parent. Lo! Allah's promise is the very truth. Let not the life of the world beguile you, nor let the deceiver beguile you, in regard to Allah.
YUSUFALI:
O mankind! do your duty to your lord, and fear (the coming of) a day when no father can avail aught for his son, nor a son avail aught for his father. Verily, the promise of Allah is true: let not then this present life deceive you, nor let the chief deceiver deceive you about Allah.
The meaning of the verse:
O mankind!
O people!
Fear your Lord and Keep your duty to your Lord who creates you.
And fear the torment of the day of resurrection when the parent will not be able to avail the child in aught in relation to Allah's chastisement, nor the child to avail the parent; ; and no child, thereon, shall avail its parent in any way.
Surely Allah’s promise, of resurrection after death, is absolutely true; it will certainly take place.
So Do not let the life of this world deceive you, and divert you] from the Truth,
Do not let the life of the world; the comfort and adornment of the life of this world beguile you.
And do not let the Deceiver, Satan; deceive you concerning Allah, because of His forbearance and granting people respite. In other words, Do not let Satan beguile you; falsehoods in regard to Allah.
