Choosing a set of golf clubs is a critical step to initiate golfing. A proper set of Golf clubs can actually enhance the playing capacity and make the game more pleasurable.

A basic essential set of golf clubs includes woods, irons, putters and wedges. A player is allowed to carry a set of 14 clubs on a course. Having a good knowledge of the clubs and their uses in diverse situations can help with the technique, swings and raising scores.

Woods or drivers are ideal for the long distance shots. These clubs are generally the most expensive, so be sure that you possess the right one for the game. The sweet spot on woods is about 6 inches, which makes it easier to hit. Certain drivers, such as the ERC Callaway, are prohibited in some rules. So, inquire about the legitimate guidelines regarding the drivers before you buy them.

Irons are known to be the most versatile clubs. On the basis of their face angle, Irons are numbered from one to nine. Each number holds a significant relevance to the irons.

Irons with number one are normally known as the driving irons. Lower numbers designate steeper faces. Irons with number three have a hollow head, which helps in creating a larger spot by lowering the center of gravity. This makes them ideal for the beginners.

The four irons have a short shaft that makes it more bulky. It inflates the spin on the ball that prevents it from rolling closer to the spot. Five irons are also a good choice for the new players. Six irons have a reasonable range and are easy to hit. Thus, they are the perfect choice amongst novice golfers. The seven irons have a lower range and are ideal for low distance shots. Eight irons are known to be the consistent clubs. Nine irons are the most adaptable clubs with a broad range of uses.

Putters are ideal for closer shots. Nearly 40% of the strokes are shot with the help of putter. Since putters are extremely important; you need to make sure that you buy the most appropriate putter for the game. Many people can only afford buying a putter from the complete set of clubs. So try all of them before buying the one that is just right for you.

Wedges or hybrids are ultimate for the shots that are out of the reach of a putter. Wedges come in a large range of lofts, where most of them are between 50- 52 degrees.

An ideal set of golf clubs is one of the most treasured possessions for many players. Thus, you need to make sure that you buy just the right set of clubs to make the whole experience truly enjoyable and worthwhile.
