Bora Bora represents the perfect island ideal many people dream of when they think of getaways. Bora Bora honeymooning options are reasonably priced and a great way to find romance.

Honeymooning in Bora Bora Paradise

Bora Bora - just the name conjures up pictures of exotic palm trees and beautiful beaches. The island of Bora Bora is located in French Polynesia. The name in the local Tahitian language means “First Born”, referring to the Polynesian legend of how the island was created. This small island with a population of less than 3,000 has become a tourist paradise. Honeymooning in Bora Bora can be a great way to explore this area. It is just the sort of romantic island getaway that most couples long for.

The Bora islands are truly a newlyweds paradise. Frankly, it is what the place is known for given the perfect blue lagoons and romantic scenery. A circle of motus (small islands) covered with palm trees is a focal point of the beauty of Bora Bora. Seven luxury resorts have been built on these motus in the past few years, adding a rich touch to the island's varied accommodations. Generally, Bora Bora trips start with a flight into Papeete, the capital of French Polynesia, located on the island of Tahiti. From this capital city, Air Tahiti offers several flights a day to the island of Bora Bora.

Once on Bora Bora, a great place to stay is the Bora Bora Lagoon Resort, a luxury establishment located on Motu Toopau (a small island near the main island of Bora Bora). It is actually the only commercial property located on this motu. The many different types of bungalows that are featured at this resort include overwater bungalows where you can look down through glass floors to the water and fish below. There are also more traditional suites on land. Regardless of your choice, both come in the traditional thatched roof style of Polynesian resorts.

The “Magical Honeymooning Vacation” is an excellent deal, as it includes airfare from New York to Tahiti, interisland transport, one night's stay in Tahiti, five nights on Bora Bora, and even greeting and farewell leis! Champagne is also included upon arrival at your bungalow. This option is a steal, starting at less than $3,000 per person. Keep in mind that this covers airfare, so it is not as high as it seems at first. While at the Bora Bora Lagoon Resort, you can enjoy many different types of water sports, canoe breakfasts where your breakfast is delivered to your overwater bungalow by canoe, and even a “motu picnic” - where you can be transported to a deserted motu for a picnic with just the two of you present.

Bora Bora is a perfect exotic destination for a little honeymooning. With sunny days, crystal clear water and private bungalows, you really cannot go wrong.
