Spring – THINK
CBT
Forgive - Focus - Patience
Spring
It is the season to forgive, focus and have patience.
The season of spring at its core, is about self reliance , accepting and then taking responsibility for everything in ones life up to this point. Realize that whatever you have created is yours, own it, because you have attracted it to you, on some level you were isolating at the same energy level as it.
If you want to change what occurs for you from this moment forth then you must take 100% responsibility for everything that happens to you (even the bad) and realize that you are the person that must change. And in realizing this you come to the conclusion that you are a strong person capable of great achievements.
It is in this season you realize you must go the rest of the path alone
Because it is the “thought” season the modality to use in the season of spring is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (C.B.T)
CBT believes that our thoughts, feelings and actions are all interconnected. So the way that you choose to think about something will shape the way you feel for something.
Often what shapes our thoughts if we are not fully aware and present is past conditioning. Recognize each thought for what it is at this moment in your life, not in the future or in the past. Recognize it, be fully present to it, and own it, after all it’s your thoughts!
What are three things you think about your present self and situation?
Self
1.
2.
3.
Situation
1.
2.
3.
How do these thoughts of yourself affect your feelings?
How do your thoughts of your situation affect your feelings?
How do the thoughts and feelings for yourself and your situation affect your behaviors?
Are your behaviors aligned with your goals?
Yes/ No
If they are not aligned with your goals, what feelings and thoughts do you feel you need to change?
What you think reinforces what you feel. How you feel influences the actions you take or do not take.
Over time the main things you think about become your central beliefs. Our central beliefs are so fixed in us that any evidence that does not support them is instantly dismissed.
Some of our central beliefs are justified and keep us safe while others may not be.
Recognize when you are not taking action, procrastinating, or taking the wrong action and ask yourself “What does a person have to believe in order for this to be true?”
Your next question would be “Is there any logical reason to believe this to be true?”
If there is not then you know you must change your thoughts.
A good idea to become aware and familiar with your thoughts and belief is to keep a self awareness journal.
The secret is to:
1) Firstly be aware of your thoughts
2) Rewire your thoughts by writing out daily the thoughts you would prefer to think and carry those preferred thoughts with you as affirmation cards. Refer to them throughout the day.
Realize that the self defeating thoughts you now have once served you. But now the time has come to move on and replace them with more self empowering, uplifting and energizing thoughts.
The principles that we may abide by in Spring as I previously mentioned are:
1) Forgiveness
2) Focus
3) Patience
The Principle of Forgiveness
You must learn to discern and forgive those who have hurt you through your past seasonal cycles.
Who ever has hurt you, you must realize that harbouring hurt, guilt, anger, resentment or other negative emotions don’t serve you.
Just know that you deserve the very best from yourself and your life.
If you are going to get ahead now is the time to let go of those negative emotions. Now is the time to present yourself with a fresh mind, a clean slate, a blank canvas, to pain the beautiful picture of your life on.
The best way to forgive is to set a specific time every day (and stick to it) to write daily forgiveness prayers.
You may choose to make our affirmations what ever you please. Below is an example for you:
I Sarah Marie is willing to release the hurt and anger I harbor from Jimbo-John. I am willing to forgive Jimbo-John and am worthy of moving on with my life.
However you word your forgiveness prayer is up to you. Keep writing it over, and over until you full up several pages each day. Do this until you feel intuitively that you have released all of the feeling toward that person or situation.
The Principle of Focus
Spring is the season to hone your focus on your passions (which you indelibly would have worked on in your winter) Focusing on what’s truly, deeply, and authentically important to you is the basis in which your summer will stem from. You must decide which activities are your highest value activities. Which activities contribute to your vision and stir the most passion beneath the surface for you?
Measure and monitor everything that you do. If you don’t feel passionately enough about something then don’t do it.
You should also choose to spend your spare mind time in focusing and honing in on you and your vision. The more you focus and the clearer you become within yourself on the person you need to be to achieve your vision then the faster it will materialize.
The Principle of Patience
Lets recap what you have done this far:
1) You forgave your past and the people in it
2) You have placed the focus on creating your vision through the power of your minds focus.
Once you begin planting the appropriate seeds widely and deeply you can then have faith and patience that the God will do the rest for you.
Do not place your time on worrying about not knowing how the universe will materialize your vision. Have unwavering faith and patience that the universe is in the process of delivering it to you. Because it is.
You can choose to create what ever spring you want to create, the choice lies with you.
