When it comes to treating eczema there are a number of treatments that are actually quite conventional such as that of corticosteroid lotions and creams. These can be purchased over the counter, but you will only really need these should your eczema be quite severe, so your doctor will more than likely prescribe them to you.

It is a well known fact that these creams and lotions can bring about certain side effects if they are used all the time and especially if they are used for a long duration. Such side effects include the skin becoming thin, growths, stretch marks and even infections.

When these treatments are no longer effective then your doctor may prescribe other treatments to you such as systemic corticosteroids and these are generally used when the body has become resistant to other types of medications and they should only be used for a very short period of time and no more. But the side effects of such treatments are quite serious and can include high blood pressure, cataracts and also the bones can also become weak and so can quite easily break.

There are some treatments that do not address the cause of eczema at all and they do is simply delay the symptoms from appearing. This is actually quite unsafe because in order to be healed you need to be able to tackle the actual cause and not the symptoms of the condition.

It is important to take note of what your body is saying to you, as these symptoms are a sign that there is something not quite right within the body and that it needs to be corrected as soon as possible in order to prevent matters from becoming worse. So by using products that hide away the symptoms is not wise as you are taking away any warning system that the body is giving, and this is generally of the high level of toxins that are present within the body.

However it is important that you are able to identify the cause of the toxin or even the allergic reaction and then to find something that is going to be able to treat it effectively. It is only when you are able to eliminate the thing that is causing your body to be in distress that your body can then put itself in a position where it can then heal itself.

In addition, you need to avoid prescribed treatments and use only organic based ingredients. This is because the body sees any kind of medication as a foreign element that is simply causing further damage to the immune system which will cause the effects of eczema to continue for a long time.

Actually healing the problem and hiding the symptoms of eczema are not the same thing, and this is what many of the products that are available simply do. This is why when you stop using such treatments, the symptoms simply return, so the problem has not been dealt with as you had hoped.
