Shrek the Third is a 2007 computer animated comedy film directed by Chris Miller. This film is a sequel of Shrek and Shrek 2.The film is based on fairy tale (specifically Grimm’s Fairy Tales) like the first two Shrek movies.
In this film, Shrek is the son in law of King Harold who has fallen sick. Fiona is Shreks wife. Shrek and his wife are in line to be the next king and queen. Shrek refuses the proposal, because he believes that there has to be someone else for this job. The king in his final three breaths tells Shrek that he has a nephew Arthur Pendragon who lives far away. According to the king, his nephew is also eligible for the post. Shrek now sets out to find the kings nephew along with Donkey and Puss in Boots. As they were about to sail off Shreks wife Fiona runs to the deck and announces that she is pregnant. During his journey to Worcestershire Academy he begins to have nightmares about his future children. When they reach the academy, they eventually discover that Arthur, who is an academy student, is a loser who is picked up by the other students. Arthur initially feels excited when he hears about his new role. However, when Donkey and Puss scare him with the responsibilities he becomes terrified. Arthur even tries to control the ship, but he ends up crashing it on an island. Arthur meets his retired wizard teacher Merlin on the island.
In the meantime, Prince Charming is on his way to the Poison Apple Bar where he tries to convince all the fairy tale villains including Captain Hook, a Cyclops, Rumpelstiltswkin, Mable the ugly step sister, the wicked queen, Headless Horseman, a puppet master who resembles Strombli and an assortment of Black Knights, Evil Magical Trees, and Evil Witches and Evil Dwarves to unite with him in a fight. The villains fill the other side if the story. The villains along with their leader invade the kingdom.
