Ever wondered why Mummy scolded you for not finishing off your glass full of milk? Well, the reason is simple – because she wanted you to develop strong bones and teeth that would help you immensely for a long period of time – till you die. Milk is a chief source of calcium and so are other dairy products like yoghurt, cheese etc. But do you think that is sufficient for us? In one word – no! For completing the required dosage of calcium that our body needs, we have to supplement it with dietary supplements like Solgar.
While one glass of milk is a necessity in our every day diet, however, that does not meet the calcium requirement that our body requires every day. The daily stress and pressure that we all go through leads to the wear and tear of our body, including the bones. And that leads to calcium depletion which renders our bones weak. But that is something we certainly can not let happen.
We have to fortify and replenish the lost calcium each day so that they remain strong and healthy. Strength in bones also leads to a better old age, the time when most of us get prone to bone related diseases. One of the common orthopaedic diseases in the latter part of the life is osteoporosis. We can avoid such diseases by avoiding the damage that the bones suffer through out our life.
Not just old age, women, especially those who are reaching or have had their menopause suffer of osteoporosis. Therefore, it is women who need Solgar calcium more than their male counterparts. Having said that, it is important for both men and women to protect their bones and fortify them with Solgar calcium. Strong bones can also help you recover from bone fractures and also in case of accidents, there are less chances of a bone fracture.
